Prt. Alexander "Ginger" Milne

Prt. Alexander “Ginger” Milne, formerly of the Gordon Highlanders, served in No.1 (later becoming No.101) Troop of No.6 Commando from 1940 (Scarborough) until, at least, 1st December 1941 – when it was noted that he was a L/Cpl as from, at least, 6th September 1941.

Prt. Alexander “Ginger” Milne later transferred to No.2 Special Boat Section and was promoted to Sergeant.

Prt. Alexander “Ginger” Milne was Killed In Action, aged 26 years, on 6th June 1943 during a raid on Lampedusa Island. Alexander is comemorated on Panel 14, Colum 2 of Brookwood Memorial, Surrey.

He was the Nephew of Catherine Robertson of Keith, Banffshire.
